Winter Porridge

BACK
A delicious winter version of porridge I enjoy throughout the year especially in winter. Lots of flavors and soft gentle comforting textures;
Ingredients
- 200 gram Oats (Can pre soak them with cinnamon, star anis, tumic and white or rose pink pepper if you have the time for 4 hours)
- 2 tspn tumeric
- 4 tspn cinnamon or 2 sticks of 5 cm
- 4 tspn ginger powder or a fresh stick. I recommend a mix of both to taste
- 3 star anis
- optional 2 cardamon pods opened in a small bag to avoid the seeds falling out into the porridge
- Dash of white and or rose pink grounded pepper
- 4 tspn of sugar
- optional 25 cl of double cream
- optional 100 grams of marsipan
- optional honey instead of suger
- optional springle with roasted almond slices
- optional small hand of barberries to add some additional acidity with the spices and sweetness
Preparation
1Put all the ingredients in the pot except the double cream and let them soak for hours or start cooking gently on low heat and let it simmer for 1 hour.
2Add water if it gets too thick. The trick is slow gentle simmering.
3Add the cream/marsipan when the porrige is luke warm. Stir it in.
4Serve with honey or additional sugar if needed.
