Poffertjes the Realway - Dutch mini pancakes :D

Delicious the world over my interpretation of this childhood classic. I love these and made with real yeast. Lots of flavor!

Ingredients quick pickle

  • 250 Gram Flour 50% Buckwheat 50% Whiteflour or a mix of your own
  • 350 Ml luke warm full fat milk (30 degrees)
  • 20 grams of brown sugar or maple leaf sirop (add to taste more if you like
  • 4 grams salt
  • 20 grams of fine live bakersyeast in crumbs
  • Optional replace some of the milk with beer
  • Butter and powder sugar to serve i like maple leaf sirop or fruit jams

 

    Instructions

    1Mix milk and yeast, leave for 10 minutes till bubbles form. Add flour, sugar, salt, optional beer etc. Mix wel and leave for anohter 45 minutes for the yeast to do its magic.

    2Heat iron poffertjes pan to around 150 degrees celcius. Add olive oil or butter. Alternatively mix. Olive oil or peanut oil gives very good results. Gently fry for 5 minutes on one side and 3 on the other. Flip with a spoon or small fork. Enjoy!!
