The Oaks is a 'farm not far from Florence, with vineyards and olive groves lying on the Florentine hills of Impruneta.
His name is given to a huge oak trees, torn down by German soldiers during the retreat of the Second World War. This large tree shaded the chapel next to the villa of the fifteenth century, what it is now drawn on our product labels.

In 1962 the company was bought by Gino Marchi father of current owner Massimo. For hundreds of years producing wine and olive oil from grapes and from olives harvested in our fields cultivated with great passion. In the seventies he began bottling wine and olive oil then at the end of the nineties began a renewal of vineyards which has yet to end. This working in collaboration with qualified technicians led to a further improvement in quality, which allowed the company to return to produce wine and extra virgin olive oil of high quality.

Established in 2004, Two Rivers of Marlborough takes its name from the iconic rivers that feed the wine growing heart of Marlborough’s renowned Wairau and Awatere Valleys.

It was in the Awatere valley, overlooking the braided river, that founder and winemaker David Clouston spent his childhood. He now lives in the Wairau valley, where he has made his home and his mark on the wine industry.

The story of LANZ Vineyards

The Lanz Family started their vineyards in 1998 forming a joint-venture with their long-time friends Thomson as partners. For more than a decade they operated successfully under LanzThomson Vineyards. Then joint decision was taken to go separate ways business-wise: since then, the spin-off of the Lanz Family is operating under the label “LANZ Vineyards”.

Viticulture, vineyard management, winemaking and grape sales are in the hands of Paxton, renown throughout Australia for their professionalism. The quality of the grapes of the so called "Outlook Vineyards" has been upgraded steadily and, together with consultancy of one of the top-clients, has now reached A-grade quality with the main part of its grapes.
The lion share of the grapes is sold to other premium wine producers in the Barossa Valley. The LANZ wines are produced only of a small part of the grapes.

The 16 ha vineyards, planted to Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre, are situated on a high exposed ridge in the southwest of the Barossa Valley, in Lyndoch, about 80 km northeast of Adelaide.

Wonderful views down the valley, across ondulating fields, framed by the hills of the sub-region Eden Valley: on a clear day, you can observe the shimmering lights of sunset on the distant cool waters of Spencer Gulf.  - A perfect place to be!

The site with its terroir is ideal for grape-growing: Mediterranean climate, relatively infertile top-soils characterized by enormous quantities of shale and limestone based rocks, free-draining sub-soils, the elevation on the hill, the frequent spring and summer winds ensure fruit of the highest quality. Desease pressure is low, biodiversity is supported by viticultural practices, irrigation and all natural resources are used very responsibly.
