Persian / Iranian Maahi Kabab - Fish

The dish for new years day in Iran. A delicious fish dish that catapults you to another nation. Fresh, light and jummy!

Ingredients

  • 6 skinless filtes of fish
  • olive oil
  • 2 fresh lime juice
  • 60 grams cilantro chopped
  • 50 grams parsley chopped
  • 30 grams mint chopped
  • 1 tspn pomme granate powder or paste
  • 0.5 tspn of saffron grinded to a powder
  • pinch of salt and ground black pepper to tsste
  • Preparation

    1F inely chop coriander, parsley and mint. Add lime juice, olive oil, pomegranate powder, saffron, salt and black pepper to taste

    2Place fish fillets in a large oven proof dish. Pour the sauce over the fish.

    3Cover with a sheet of aluminium foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celcius 20 - 25 minutes. Baste the fish with the sauce at least once during cooking. When cooked, decorate each fillet with finely sliced lime and a little fresh chopped parsley and serve with Sabzi Polow rice or basmati rice.
