One of the few rooftop terasses in Bern. You look over the city and enjoy the spectecular view. The menu changes relatively frequently. The food is good for a 5 start hotel. The wine list is decent and has something for every one. The 1988 Pommery champagne is fabulous. Service is excellent and you will enjoy your visit. I love the mini burgers and go and discover their BBQ options in summer. A gem to be honest absolutely wonderful. For opening times check the website of the Schweizerhof. Opening times vary and it is advised to book a table in advance. 

Situated near the Bärengraben the Tramdepot is a brewery restaurant with a wonderful terasse overlooking the UNESCO world heritage old town of Bern. The brewery offers great seasonal beer specialities next to their brilliant standard beers selection. The beer alone is worth the visit. Unfortunately restaurant on the other hand is really nothing to write home about. The cooking is blant, very basic, not well cooked and in my opinion terribly boring. How can you mess up a rösti. The 27 Frank hamburger was not great either. The BBQ sauce was too sweet. The meat was overcooked and the bun was dry like cardboard. A pretty boring and overpriced hamburger On the other hand the bretzel and weisswurst are ok. But let's be honest there are better restaurant options for dining in Bern. I can only recommend ording small bites to go with their fantastic beer selection. With good weather enjoy the brilliant terasse and beer garden. 

Actually there is a nice restaurant across the road from the tram depot. The name of the restaurant is brasserie Bärengraben and only 100 meters from the  Tramdepot directly next to the Nydegg bridge.

The Kreissaal is a special place. This is an modern but at the same time old school cocktailbar with a personal touch. The key element of the Kreissaal is the cocktail list. These are mixed to perfection. Further more they have a exquisite Whiskey and gin list. Everything is mixed to measure as you wish. Kreissaal is a timeless classic and one of the top cocktail bars I have been too. Situated in a beautiful building in the old town. Try the botanics gin with a tonic of your choice. The Presidente cocktail is delicious as well. Enjoy the cocktail adventure awaiting you!

One of the best wine shop in Cologne. Great selection and the prices are quite ok. Service and wine passion as almost perfect. When in Cologne go and visit. A reference for Germany
