Modest ruby hue. A nose of spanish almond blossom a little distant zest of orange. Spice and tannins are dancing together. Nice chew and acidity that keeps it fresh. Red berries that are fresh and robust keeping the wine so alive. The tannic structure needs more time and this a wine to keep or to enjoy right now. 

The 2013 Chocolate Block is a blend of Syrah (71%); Cabernet Sauvignon (12%); Grenache Noir

(11%); Cinsault (5%) and Viognier (1%). This is a delight of a wine. Subtle blackness with a red charming lumency. Dark cocoa nose with sour cherries and minimal herbal elements. Powerful dark red. Creme de cocao chew with raspberries elegant well integrated tannins and a delight fresh deep solid acidity. A dash of black pepper and subtle presence of tabacco. Violet and floral notes. This wine has  subtle elegant structure with big personality. Well build wine that needs additional time to shows its full potential. Medium length finish. This will get better with time but already great right now.
